An absolutely amazing experience! Our guide, Rei was the absolute best. He was a great and smooth driver, shared so much of Albanian culture with us on the way to the lake and made sure we had a perfect experience. He made sure we were always safe while hiking, didn’t rush us at any point and took us to cool spots with great views we probably wouldn’t have found ourselves. Truly a great experience and a must try for an adventurous half day trip from Tirana 🙂

We were 3 travellers who did the Bovilla lake tour with Tirana Free Tours company and had a really wonderful experience. Rei our driver picked us up at our accommodation and we drove in a comfortable air conditioned car stopping at different spots to take pictures. Rei was very friendly and told us so much about Albania along route. I was so grateful for his help climbing to and from the viewing platform at Bovilla.
Because we were so happy with the experience, we asked Rei if the company could do a tailor-made trip to Berat the next day. It was the best decision we made because we were able to choose drop off and pick up points and times at Berat castle and Berat town. We also made an additional stop at the picturesque town of Bejsh. Aido was our driver and was also very kind and friendly, and despite not speaking much English, he did his absolute best to communicate with us through Ariola (in their office), who acted as interpreter via mobile phone.
We can’t praise the company enough. They made sure that every detail was met, including ensuring we had time for rest and food breaks on both trips.
We highly recommend Tirana free tours to anyone thinking of visiting Bovilla and Berat. They also do a free 2 hour walking tour of Tirana, which is well worth joining and Clint helped us to get a true understanding of the country and its rich history and warm and hospitable people.
